Samson Sounds - The Sound System Project

The Sound System Project is a youth led project to design, build and operate sound systems. The team join us at Resonate for an interactive workshop where delegates are encouraged to take part in group activities exploring avenues of musical equipment, teaching tools and techniques that are used such as the 12 volt system, Ableton Live & more.

Anders Rigg (Founder - The Sound System Project)

Anders is a multidisciplinary artist, he uses a combination Ableton live and live percussion to create music for dance and movement.  His enthusiasm and diverse experience of production, percussion and performance lends itself to working with any group of people, young or old. Performing in both live music groups and outdoor theatre productions Anders tours across the UK extensively. His primary live musical focus, Samson Sounds, is a fusion of different cultures and grooves from across the world. Within the sessions Anders heads up the creation of beats using Ableton live and live instrumentation. He draws on the world around us through objects and sounds to create a space where the musical mind can develop freely.

Stuart Thomas

Stuarts’ experiences as musician, musical promoter, artist liaison, DJ and musical ambassador for the British Council are many and widespread. His awareness for the need of young people for something to inspire and occupy their minds when they are in their informative stages of their life led to the creation of The Soundsystem Project. Stuart has toured as a DJ and promoted regular nights in Scotland and England, continuously bringing global culture to his local communities. Alongside the Soundsystem Project he currently works for Renfrewshire council as Musical Programmer and runs musical workshops using Makey Makey components in combination with Samba drumming.  Within the sessions Stuart facilitates the building of the Soundsystems, from box building to amp rack wiring.
