RESONATE 2026 PANELISTS AND SPEAKERS
Panels & Workshops
Discover the first announced sessions for Resonate 2026.
In Conversation With: Elizabeth Sharkey
Music journalist Alice Austin joins Elizabeth Sharkey, author of Why Britain Rocked, for an in-depth conversation. Sharkey’s book takes a fresh look at the roots of British pop, tracing the historical events and overlooked influences that helped shape its distinctive sound and global impact.
With work featured in The Guardian, Mixmag and Resident Advisor, Austin brings a wealth of experience documenting music, underground culture and the communities behind it. This session brings together two writers whose work looks beyond the music to the stories that surround it.
In Conversation With: Youth (Martin Glover)
DJ and music consultant Tam Coyle joins acclaimed producer, musician and Killing Joke bassist Youth for an in-depth conversation. From his work on The Verve’s Urban Hymns to his collaborations with Paul McCartney as The Fireman, Youth’s career spans post-punk, pop and experimental electronic music.
With more than four decades of experience in Scotland’s music industry, Coyle brings his own extensive perspective to the conversation. Join us for an opportunity to hear from a creative talent whose work has crossed genres and generations, from underground scenes to internationally celebrated records.
Sync Your Teeth
Discover how music finds its way into film, TV, games and advertising, and the opportunities these placements can create for artists and songwriters. This panel explores the world of sync, the relationship between music and moving images, and what makes a track the right fit for a project.
Whether you’re new to sync or looking to better understand its place in your career, join us for insights into how your music can reach audiences beyond the stage and streaming platforms.
Touring 101
Behind every live show is a team making it happen. Meet the people behind life on the road, from tour managers to crew, and discover the planning, coordination and teamwork that take a performance from rehearsal room to stage.
This panel offers a closer look at the realities of touring and the different roles that keep a show moving. Whether you’re an artist preparing to hit the road or interested in a career behind the scenes, gain a clearer understanding of the work that goes into bringing live music to audiences.
Girls Girls Girls: Built Different
Women working across music come together for an honest conversation about building careers, breaking barriers and finding their place in the industry. Through personal experiences and different perspectives, this panel explores the challenges, achievements and relationships that shape a life in music.
An opportunity to hear from women forging their own paths, reflect on what meaningful progress looks like, and consider how we can build a more supportive industry for those coming next.
Session Stories
Step inside the world of session musicians and discover what it takes to build a career playing alongside different artists, across styles and settings. This panel explores how musical versatility, preparation and professionalism work together, and why being someone others can rely on matters as much as what you play.
From adapting to another artist’s vision to building relationships that lead to repeat work, join us for a conversation about the creative and practical realities of session life. An insight into developing your reputation, finding your place and building a sustainable career as a working musician.
Many more to be announced.
