Resonate Artist of The Week: The Strange Blue Dreams
Back with another stellar Resonate Artist of The Week - The Strange Blue Dreams.
‘For My Sins’ is the second single from upcoming album set for release on Glasgow stalwart label Holysmokes Records. A quintet who’s worldly approach to their music is something to behold, combining Doo-Wop, Bollywood and Spaghetti Western themes with Joe Meek’s reckless invention, like Elvis Costello shrouded in mysterious glam. They exist in a parallel world where all music is pop music and therefore everything can be plundered.
Taking from the band's upcoming second album 'Simple Machine', ‘For My Sins’ sees the band deepen their explorations of where mid-20th Century pop music inspired by the sounds of Roy Orbinson & Duncan Kennedy.
We are absolutely here and living for The Strange Blue Dreams - unquestionably talented and in a realm of their own with unique fusions and tip top quality productions. Blabber & Smoke were on the money whey described them as; "A heady mixture that hangs together with style and a magnificent sense of cool".
Check out For My Sins here and keep your eyes peeled for album announcements very soon. The Strange Blue Dreams perform live for the first time in over 2 years, previewing their new album in full at The Rum Shack on May 6th and you can grab one of the last remaining tickets here.
